My Background
Some of the most significant and life changing moments are jumpstarted in the course of a conversation. Feeling heard and understood, opens the door to possibilities. Suddenly healing, freedom, and a deeper sense of peace feels possible when opening up to an empathetic ear. This has been my experience in my own journey and when I walk with others. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, relational conflict, thoughts of wanting to die, feeling worthless, or you just need a listening ear, I'd like to help.
I was born in, and spent much of my childhood in South America. In addition to speaking Spanish, this experience cultivated an appreciation for connecting with individuals from all different backgrounds. This carried on into adulthood, living in major U.S. cities such as Chicago, Denver and Phoenix. Living in so many different places and meeting people from all walks of life has confirmed: we all want to be known and understood, empathy will guide our connection.
Making the decision to get help takes courage. Whether you are looking for tangible skills to deal with current life challenges, you need healing from a past that isn't letting you live in the present, or you can't stop worrying about the future, I look forward to meeting with you. What you can expect from me is empathy, curiosity and honesty as we discuss how to help you make the changes in your life you want to make.
My Credentials
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Education: Masters in Social Work, Arizona State University
Bachelors in Pre-Counseling, Moody Bible Institute
My desire to help people has been present as long as I can remember, and has taken me to a number of settings including home-visiting programs, multiple community mental health agencies, a behavioral health hospital, and private practice. The culmination of these experiences has afforded me the opportunity to work with people of all ages on an individual level, as couples and families, and in group settings. What I have learned along the way, through all these experiences, has been invaluable in shaping how I continue to help individuals moving forward.
"Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom."
